Odyssey Healthcare, Inc. 1996 - 1998    

Manager – Information Technology  

• Designed, procured, implemented, and supported the Wide Area Network for Odyssey Healthcare, Inc.  From their first office in Indianapolis, IN to the base infrastructure that is still in-place today providing support to over 80 locations. 
• Responsible for setup and procurement of all network assets. Researched technologies and implement the technologies that provided the best solutions to enable Odyssey to grow from a 4 person start-up into a multi-million dollar business with locations from coast-to-coast. 
• Sole responsibility for all IT operations including budgeting, forecasting, standards, and procedures. 
• Interacted and planned directly with the officers of the company to implement scalable solutions that would enable Odyssey to grow at their anticipated rate. 
• Initiated and implemented a telecommunications gross analysis that resulted in a yearly savings of over $65K. Responsible for all IT contracts and procurement of financing for IT and office equipment. 

Texas-New Mexico Power Company 1988 - 1996    

Senior Network Administrator(1996 – 1992)  

• Part of a team that implemented a 400-plus node network across parts of Texas and New Mexico to provide corporate communications with field offices.  
• Responsible for day to day trouble-shooting and repair of user problems across the WAN and at the local corporate offices. 
• Responsible for daily maintenance on Novell NetWare and Microsoft Windows servers. 
• Server and desktop hardware deployment. 
• Responsible for finding a connection solution and implementing the solution to get laptops connected to the Token-Ring network. 
• Part of a team responsible for daily data backup system including data integrity testing. 
• Part of a team responsible for design, implementation, and testing of the a company wide disaster recovery plan. 

Mainframe Systems Programmer(1989 – 1992)   

• Part of a 3 person team responsible for support and maintenance of the IBM based Mainframe system that supported all functions of the company. 
• Daily duties included monitoring and performing maintenance on the IBM 3380 DASD. 
• Worked with application programmers to develop Job Control Language that enabled them to correctly compile their source code. 
• Source Code librarian for all custom written application data utilizing CA Librarian. 
• Responsible for daily oversight of the tape backup system and in-charge of implementing media inclusion and retirement. Interacted with the Mainframe System Operators to ensure smooth operation of the daily processing. 
• Part of a team responsible for design, implementation, and testing of the disaster recovery plan. Responsible for off-site data storage.           

Mainframe Systems Operator(1988 – 1989)  

• Responsible for over-sight of the nightly batch processing jobs. 
• Monitored the two IBM 4381 mainframes and notified the system programmers of any problems. 
• Worked in a team to pull nightly batch reports and ensure that the reports totaled correctly. 
• Performed maintenance and trouble-shooting of Mainframe printers.
•  Performed the nightly tape backup jobs and prepped the tapes for off-site storage. 
• Pulled nightly reports and distributed to the appropriate personnel
